ORGANIZATION: ANOKA COUNTY RSVP

Wishes & More enhances the life of a child fighting a terminal or life threatening condition by providing extraordinary experiences... and more...

Volunteers can work alongside staff in Wish Granting, Event Volunteers, Marketing, Special Projects, or in Operations.

Administrative
Professional and Friendly Administrative Volunteer(s) provide support in order to upkeep weekly needs in a database and assist with clerical functions. This is an on-going position with a time commitment during daytime hours for 4 hours weekly. Ideal volunteers would be highly organized, detail oriented, may have book-keeping skills, and are comfortable with Microsoft applications.

On-Call Driver
Join a team of on-call drivers who help make wishes happen. On-call drivers deliver and pick up Wish Bags, auction items all over the metro and suburbs.

Mailing Coordinator
Become a mailing coordinator who oversees the completion of mailings not requiring a short deadline. May recruit and organize volunteers to complete a task. Time commitment is 2-4 hours as needed.

Phone Tree Coordinator
This position is as needed in the office or could be done from home after volunteers have completed orientation. Coordinators reach out to families to update contact information to keep in touch via email. Ideal Coordinators would have strong organizational skills, have a friendly phone manner, ability to work independently, attention to detail and understand confidentiality.

Writer of Thank-You Notes
Channel your inner 'Thank-You' Note writer for 2-4 hours each week. This position is responsible for assisting with the thank-you notes for donations, both monetary and in-kind and would be completed during office hours. Writers would have neat, legible handwriting, ability to follow procedures, attention to detail, are responsible for completing thank-you notes in a timely manner and are able to abide by confidentiality.

Wish Granting
Wish Wizards are needed to meet with children to determine their wish. Volunteers assist Wish child/families in determining wish. Must attend required training prior to conducting first interview. Time commitment is 1-2 times per quarter. Meetings with children average 1 hour plus travel time. Ideal volunteers would have experience working with children, positive attitude, strong listening skills, creative, understand confidentiality, must attend required training and comfortable with a variety of family situations.

Wish Maker
Wish Maker assist in making the wishes happen. Duties range from setting up a vacation (travel wish), soliciting or shopping for items (gift wish), creating a vocation for a day (ex. a child wishes to be a police officer), or setting up a meeting with a celebrity (child wishes to meet someone). Volunteers must be able to attend required training. Time commitment is as needed; dependent upon the complexity of the wish (1-2 wishes per quarter). Ideal wish makers are professional and would have experience working with businesses, are detail oriented, knowledge of policies/procedures, able to request in-kind donations, good phone skills, strong organizational and listening skills, understand confidentiality.

Wish Bag Assembler
Wish Bag Assemblers are responsible for maintaining inventory by managing collection of items received by age and gender. Obtain wish bags/backpacks by in-kind donations or discounted purchase. Assemble wish bags for wish interviews. Time commitment is approximately 4 hours per month during daytime or early evening hours to assemble the bags. Ideal Assemblers have a positive attitude, enjoy shopping, have strong organizational skills, are able to maintain confidentiality and work with vendors to request donations.
