The Lace Museum is looking for a volunteer who can make bobbin bags and pillow covers with the materials we provide.. The museum has a machine which you can use on site, your can bring your own machine to the museum or you may take a weeks worth of materials home to use on your home machine. many of the tasks can be done at your home with your own machine.

We are happy to sign forms for high school students doing volunteer hours, anyone doing community service or court ordered service. All that is neccessary is the ability to use a sewing machine with neat and sturdy results.

To preserve the art of lace making, to exhibit lace and its historical use and to offer instruction in all facets of lace making.

Description

The Lace Museum is a small, all-volunteer museum located in Fremont, California. It has permanent and rotating exhibits of lace and lace making tools. Tours are offered for individuals and small groups. The collections are comprised of over 10,000 pieces of lace, lace making tools, ephemera, a library and an archive. Workshops are given both in person and virtually for beginning to experienced lace makers with teachers from around the globe. The museum supports itself through teaching, lecturing, online sales and offsite sales events.
