ORGANIZATION: Central Coast Literacy Council

The Central Coast Literacy Council (CCLC) is actively recruiting a volunteer with experience in compiling a Database. CCLC will provide lists of three groups of people who participate in our non-profit organization: Learners, Tutors and Donors. Some of the individuals may belong in more than one category and this information must be clearly noted. Building the Database is a one time project. Mission Statement

To teach adults in Northern Santa Barbara County to read, write, speak, communicate and understand English so they can develop to their full potential and benefit themselves, their families and the community.

Description

Central Coast Literacy Council was founded in 1983. Learning Centers are located across the Central Coast of CA including Santa Maria, Lompoc, Guadalupe and Los Alamos. CCLC provides both one-on-one tutoring and small classes at no cost to the learner. A dedicated and talented team of over 40 volunteers acts as tutors, classroom teachers, event coordinators, and office assistants.

Northern Santa Barbara County is diverse with adult learners from a wide range of backgrounds, abilities and ages. CCLC provides training and on-going support to volunteers.
