Mission Statement

To teach adults in Northern Santa Barbara County to read, write, speak, communicate and understand English so they can develop to their full potential and benefit themselves, their families and the community.

Description

Central Coast Literacy Council was founded in 1983. Learning Centers are located across the Central Coast of CA including Santa Maria, Lompoc, Guadalupe and Solvang. CCLC provides both one-on-one tutoring and small classes at no cost to the learner. A dedicated and talent team of over 40 volunteers act as Center Directors, tutors, classroom teachers and assistants.

Northern Santa Barbara County is diverse with learners from a wide-range of backgrounds, abilities and ages. CCLC provides training and on-going support to volunteers.
