Volunteer Board & Care visitors work with Pathways and Board & Care Facilities in the Lakewood and Long Beach area to do activities with the elderly. These seniors can be home bound, with little outside socialization. Working as a volunteer provides them with a new friendly visitor.
Simple activities such as bingo, chair exercises, reading, outside walks and more bring joy to those who may be isolated from the world.
Pathways volunteers start with an interview and then go through a few training sessions before being sent out into the field. You may either contact us through volunteer match or send an email to alyssa@pathwayshospice.org. Thank you for your interest!

Since 1985 Pathways a non-profit volunteer organization is dedicated to providing services to the frail, elderly, terminally ill. We also, provide compassionate support to grieving Individuals and families.
Pathways provides the following programs at no charge to our community: Volunteer Companionship & Advocacy for Older Adults, Bereavement Support Groups & Hospice guidance. We want to be the "Friend" who walks alongside you, guiding you, providing resources and helping you make the very best choices for you and/or your loved one.
