Pathways Volunteer Hospice volunteer companions are crucial to the success of Pathways. As a volunteer driven non-profit, our volunteers contribute their time that the clients that Pathways serves.
Pathways volunteer companions perform a variety of tasks that provide support to the frail and elderly in the Long Beach, Lakewood, and surrounding communities. These specific community members have a higher chance to be isolated from the world, lacking the ability or support system needed to get out and be active in their community. Our volunteer care givers dedicate a few hours a week to a Pathways client, providing them with a friend to give them time to be social and truly live well. Additionally, Pathways volunteers provide respite care and time for primary family care givers to have a moment to themselves.
Pathways volunteers start with an interview, and then go through a few training sessions before being sent out into the field. You may either contact us through volunteer match, or send an email to alyssa@pathwayshospice.org. Thank you for your interest!
