House of Charity

Collect and donate the supplies your neighbors need to be successful in stable living! Welcome Baskets support people transitioning from homelessness into their own apartments and homes.

Our off-site program called Housing First, supports individuals in living independently from previously being homeless. These baskets provide those individuals the things they need to get started in a home such as, dishes, pots and pans, a broom, etc.

This is a great activity for girl scout troops, family gatherings or even corporate giving!

Possible Supplies:

  • Laundry Basket
  • Mop
  • Broom
  • Towels
  • Shower Curtains
  • Pots and Pans
  • Utensils
  • Non-perishable foods
  • Disinfectant wipes
  • Paper Towels
  • Garbage Bags
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Laundry Detergent

To make it even more interactive you can:

1. Write welcome home cards for the individual receiving the basket!

2. Wrap the donations before placing in the basket for those receiving to have a fun way to open them!

Feel free to contact me with questions, or simply drop off the baskets at our 510 location!
