ORGANIZATION: St. Augustine Health Ministries

Imagine trying to balance a tray of food and beverage while rolling your wheelchair to the dining table. Our residents who eat in our cafeteria could use a few friendly volunteers to help them select their food, pour their beverage and carry trays to the table. Additional responsibilities include clearing trays, wiping down tables and re-stocking napkins and straws. Bonus: when the rush is over, volunteers are encouraged to sit and visit with our residents while they eat and often help transport residents back to their rooms. Lunchtime or dinnertime. Weekday or weekend. Training and off-street parking provided.

Description

St. Augustine Health Ministries is a mission-driven, faith-based, not-for-profit organization affiliated with Catholic Charities and is dedicated to providing a continuum of health care and social services within our community. Within the Health Ministries, St. Augustine Health Campus cares for the chronically ill and aging through short-term rehab, assisted living, and long-term care. The St. Augustine Child Enrichment Center provides early education and child care for 80+ children, beginning at 6 weeks through preschool. Holy Family provides home health care, residential and community-based hospice services. Emerald Village Senior Living provides independent and assisted-living apartments located in the west suburbs for active seniors 55+.
