Seeking a well-organized, detail-oriented, friendly individual to perform general office tasks such as filing, copying, sorting, and scanning. Training will be provided by office staff. Clerical volunteers usually come in one day a week (M-F) for 2-4 hours, but our schedules are very flexible! This is a great opportunity to gain experience in an office setting, learn new skills and work in a friendly, fun environment with caring staff and volunteers. This could be the perfect fit for college students, those needing community service hours for their club or civic organization, parents with children in school, or those who have retired from an office position. Volunteers provide a great deal of support to the staff who are responsible for keeping records and information accurate and current!

The vast majority of our nursing home residents use wheelchairs, and many like to move around the facility to participate in activities, enjoy socializing, attend chapel services, listen to musical performances and more. Others need to go to our rehab department for physical therapy, or to the onsite dialysis center for treatment. Volunteers are needed to assist in transporting residents in wheelchairs to different areas of the facility. It may seem like a simple task, but it provides life-enriching opportunities for our residents who depend on the kindness of others. Can you make someone’s day a little bit brighter? Days and times are flexible. Training and free off-street parking provided.

Interested in sharing your gift of music with those in need? Music helps to provide patients with a sense of joy and positivity unlike any other art form. It can be a key component in boosting mood and helping to cultivate a healing environment. St Augustine Health Campus is in search of volunteers to share their love of music with our residents, visitors, and team members. If you are interested in performing for residents in our assisted living, singing with our residents, or just coming in to play for residents and staff for an hour on one of our units/floors... If you are a single person or a group... We have the ideal opportunity for you. The residents love music and truly enjoy having the opportunity to listen and interact with you! If you play a wind instrument, a string instrument, have a keyboard or just like to sing... we would love to have you join us! Spend as little as a 1/2 hour or longer if you would like. Time is flexible. Usually between 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday - Friday and 11:00 - 3:00 on weekends. *Opportunities at Nursing Home and Assisted Living

Be a P.A.R.T.T of Something Big Pathway Allowing Residents to Thrive More than 50 percent of seniors do not have adequate financial resources for the care they need and deserve. Government reimbursement programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid, provide payment for only a portion of the actual cost, leaving a major financial shortfall. St. Augustine Towers provides a stable home where seniors 55+ can age in place with grace. Currently, 65% of residents in assisted living rely on the Medicaid Waiver and PACE programs. These programs cover the cost of care and supportive services (housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance), nursing, three meals per day, and on-site social/recreational programming. However, the monthly room and board is paid directly from their SSI, minus $50. This $50 is what the senior is expected to live on each month to cover: medication co-pays, toiletries, visits to the hair salon, snacks, outings, clothing, and a variety of basic needs that we take for granted. Helping Residents Thrive St. Augustine Health Campus helps Seniors maintain their independence by providing the items that improve their quality of life and dignity when they face unexpected financial challenges and/or outlive their resources (and when government assistance alone cannot fully provide for their care). Items are needed to allow them to move into a senior living apartment and ongoing so they can continue to afford pharmacy co-pays, and other quality-of-life needs. Are you the leader or a member of a group - maybe a church ministry, school, civic group, business, fraternity or sorority, scout troop, or a group of friends or family members - who is looking for a service project? You can provide honor and dignity to Seniors in need. For more information on hosting a donation drive, contact: Volunteer and Community Outreach Office (216) 939-7601 mmullen@st-aug.org
