Did you know that 38 million tons of food are wasted every year in the U.S., and yet 15.6 million U.S. households are food insecure, meaning they don't get enough to eat? Help us feed people, not landfills!
Every Tuesday, Rustica Bakery generously donates their end-of-day leftover bread and pastries to PPL, which helps lower food waste and provide PPL residents and students with food!
Be a critical part of the solution to food insecurity by becoming a volunteer food rescue driver for PPL.
In only about 1 hour a week, you can make a difference!
We are looking for 1 dedicated weekly volunteer or a group willing to schedule their members weekly to meet the need.
Tuesdays, 7:45-8:15pm: Pick up donation at Rustica (3220 W Lake St, Minneapolis).
Store donation overnight.
Wednesdays, time flexible (within 8am-5pm): Deliver to PPL Service Center (1035 E Franklin Ave, Minneapolis).
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license & insurance, reliable access to a vehicle
- Prompt, reliable, good driving record
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Complete application, references, phone interview
