PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To support the DPA Marketing team in the execution of communications and marketing strategies across all channels of communication


TIME REQUIREMENT: 3-5 hours per week.


  • Collaborate with DPA leadership on ideas and topics for blog posts, newsletters, email marketing and social media posts.
  • Write content that will be engaging for DPA followers and appeal to our audience.
  • Develop stories, articles, and promotions for one channel (blog, print, or email for example) with ability to adapt across multiple channels.
  • Proofread content written by self and others for AP style and grammar best practices.

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS: Correspondence with DPA marketing team, leadership team and supporters on a semi-regular basis.

CONTROLS OVER WORK : This position reports to the Marketing Directors, Vice President - Administration and the Executive Director.


  • Must be proficient with use of email and have regular phone access.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and maintain professional level correspondence at all times.
  • Must be a creative thinker and approach the role strategically.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and consistent with follow through.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively with a variety of management styles and personalities.
  • Must display a positive attitude at all times and present DPA in a positive manner to the public.
  • Must have HS diploma or higher degree of education.
  • Experience in a paid position or highly responsible volunteer position managing marketing content and copywriting is preferred.
