This fall, students in grades 1 to 12 will form Robotics teams to participate in FIRST Robotics programs. We need both technical and non-technical judges to evaluate their work.
Kids in grades 1 - 3 will be Play Makers as part of FIRST LEGO League Explore, those in grades 4 - 8 will compete in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge RePLAY, and those in grades 7 - 12 will take on the FIRST Tech Challenge Ultimate Goal.
In Minnesota these talented kids will compete at an event organized by High Tech Kids. Join us to be inspired by these students. Spend a Saturday in December through February judging teams remotely (via web based conferencing). Kids will explain what they learned and built through these FIRST programs. Judges ask questions and provide encouragement to teams during judging sessions, then collaborate with other judges to determine award winners.
Training, as well as the opportunity to shadow an experienced judge, is provided prior to your first volunteer assignment.
For the 2020-2021 season, our events will be conducted remotely via web based conferencing.
Please see our website to learn more about these programs and volunteer roles, then signup via our Volunteer Interest page, contact Barb at email@example.com or visit http://hightechkids.org/volunteer for more information. Training will be held in October.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
About High Tech Kids
715 Florida Ave. So., Suite 102, Golden Valley, MN 55426, US
High Tech Kids delivers fun, hands-on science, engineering and technology programs and events that inspire Minnesota kids in their formative years. We inspire kids to BUILD confidence, CREATE opportunities, and THRIVE in the 21st century.
High Tech Kids is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that supports the Minnesota FIRST LEGO League Explore, FIRST LEGO League Challenge and Minnesota FIRST Tech Challenge each fall/winter. Through these programs we train, teach and empower student teams, coaches and volunteers.
With the help of more than 700 volunteers, we work hard to offer high energy, fun, team-based programs and competitions that celebrate science and technology. Kids learn how to work together, solve real-world problems and become leaders. To support High Tech Kids is to invest in our children, to share our passion, and to inspire these future innovators, leaders, collaborators, and problem solvers for the 21st century.
High Tech Kids now serves over 4,500 kids across Minnesota each year. Since our inception in 1999 we have helped over 67,000 students discover the fun in science and technology.
High Tech Kids’ programs, training, research workshops and competitions provide adult volunteers the opportunity to share their enthusiasm and expertise with young people in their community. These volunteers encourage kids to explore future STEM career possibilities.
