The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is looking for volunteers who would enjoy assisting with rare plant species monitoring surveys on San Diego County Preserves. DPR is currently in the 4th year of a five year monitoring program. Volunteers would assist in performing surveys for a variety of rare plant species (e.g., San Diego thornmint in Ramona and variegated dudleya in Escondido). Surveys will start in the spring of 2018 and end in early summer. Survey efforts will vary between 1-3 monitoring days depending on species during the entire surveying season. Volunteers will be trained prior to the start of the monitoring season. For more information or if you are interested in participating in this monitoring program, please contact Bethany Principe at Bethany.Principe@sdcounty.ca.gov or (858) 933-1321 for more information. We look forward to hearing from you.
