Elara Caring Hospice is looking for spiritual volunteers who are willing to sit bedside with a dying patient. Our "By Your Side" program is in need of those with compassion in their hearts and souls. Those who have a calling to companion with a patient who within their last days on this earth.
If you have always wanted to minister spiritually to another human being, always wanted to bring comfort to a grieving family as their loved one is dying, willing to sit in gracious silence while awaiting a soul to cross over, then this is for you.
Our vigil volunteers are provided training. The schedule is very flexible and on an on-call basis. You would give a minimum of 2 hours or more to sitting with a patient primarily in a nursing home environment. Most of the hours needed are evenings and weekends.
**We are non-denominational and do not minister religious beliefs to patients and families**
