Program
: Healthy Start Military Family Resource Center (HSMFRC) provides a "resource hub" for military families. The focus is to support and empower communities.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests to the facility and support incoming calls
  • Support childcare by engaging with youth of varying ages by creating activities, art projects, crafts, reading to children, etc.
  • Identify, organize resource binder
  • Support communications and messaging in monthly newsletter
  • Post, update and distribute information through social media, email newsletter (Mailchimp), and on agency website
  • Organize outreach materials and support outreach when available
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Proficiency in the use of social media
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with working with youth
  • Ability to develop calendars, newsletter and other printed materials
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and flexibility
  • Ability to provide childcare by keeping children active, playing games and engaging in enrichment activities for kids of all ages
  • Must have reliable transportation

Training or Support

  • Will receive support and guidance from Program Manager

Volunteer Time Commitment

Length of service:
Ongoing (with a minimum commitment of 4 months), starting as soon as possible

Day(s) of week and time(s) volunteer is needed:
Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the hours of 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM. 5-10 hours per week.
