About

The volunteer visits or may make calls to community centers, churches, clinics, hospitals, geriatric assessment centers, home health care companies, key neighborhood businesses, Michigan Department of Health and Human Service branches in Detroit, to promote the Affordable Prescription Program which is a prescription drug program for under- and uninsured low income people. The volunteer also attends health fairs. It is an important program funded with grants that helps people to afford their medications, stabilize their lives and manage their illness better. When people feel better and do not go from health crisis to health crisis, they can work and be an productive member of society.
This volunteer position could also be used for an internship.
