ORGANIZATION: Metro Caring

At Metro Caring, we're meeting people's immediate food needs while sustainably addressing the root cause of hunger: poverty. We provide nutritious groceries to our hungry neighbors, and also offer comprehensive, wrap-around anti-hunger programming so that families can break the cycle of poverty.

Metro Caring is a welcoming, dignified, health-focused organization, open to everyone in the Denver metro area. Inside our facility, our staff and volunteers provide a respectful and equitable experience to anyone who walks through our doors.

We are currently recruiting for volunteers who are passionate about food, nutrition, and/or education! Nutrition Educators volunteer in two roles:
  • Point-Of-Sale Volunteer: this position involves cooking a very simple recipe using items that are in abundance or items that are available and somewhat unfamiliar. Volunteers hand out their samples directly in the market.
  • Healthy Tasting/Food for Thought Volunteer: this is a dual role. Volunteers work with a partner to do a cooking demonstration using ingredients in the market while engaging participants in an evidence-based nutrition education game that is provided.
Nutrition education volunteer shifts are Monday-Friday from 8:30a-11:30a and from 11:00a-3:00p. Join our family and apply today!! metrocaring.org/volunteer
