The Sierra Club is the largest and oldest environmental group in the United States and has been essential to the founding of the National Parks, the enforcement of the NEPA, the Clean Water, and the Clean Air Acts. We've recently launched a number of local, Ready for 100 campaigns to push cities to commit to powering themselves by 100% renewable energy by 2050, and the Central Ohio Group has started our own right in Columbus, and we need you!
We're looking for a passionate, hard-working candidate to serve as our campaign's Equitable Cities Accountability Coordinator. This position is a part of the steering committee and will work with the campaign to ensure that we are fully representative of the community and are representing the entire community's needs. To this end, the ECAC will work heavily with the grassroots organizing arm of our campaign, though they will also work with the organizational leadership/policy arm to make sure our recommendations to city council are representative. Prior experience is not required, although being self-motivated to learn about the broader needs of the Columbus community is a must.

Description
Since 1892, the Sierra Club has been working to protect communities, wild places, and the planet itself. We are the oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States.
The Ohio Chapter was established in 1968 and represents more than 125,000 members and supporters. The Chapter advocates for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and public transit. We proudly defend Ohio’s forests, state parks, and nature preserves. We preserve water resources by advocating for green infrastructure, factory farm regulation, and protections for Lake Erie and watersheds throughout the state. Finally, we promote Ohio’s transition to a 21st-century economy through the creation of good-paying, long-standing green jobs.
