Senior Visitation

"Honor your father and mother" is a sacred commandment. Just as we preserve the dignity of our own aging parents, we demonstrate kavod (respect) for all elderly members of our community. Visitors are volunteers who provide satisfying, life-enhancing companionship to isolated seniors thereby contributing to a senior-friendly community for Jewish and non-Jewish elders alike. Visitors experience a genuine appreciate of others' stories and strengths and offer to each person visited a meaningful sense of belonging and connection to our human community.

Do you want to become a Visitor and enjoy a particularly meaningful kind of volunteer work? Visitors and Seniors need not be Jewish to participate.

Contact Megan Weingartner, JFS Clinical Services and Senior Programs Coordinator, at meganw@sbjf.org or call (805) 957-1116.
