ChickTech Bay Area is looking for Teaching Assistants to help out at our High School Monthly Workshop on March 30, 2019 from 9am - 5pm in San Francisco at the Holberton School.
You will be working alongside our Workshop lead (CEO & Co-founder of Popfizz.io) to teach high school aged girls about 3D optics using javascript, HTML, and CSS. Please see workshop blurb below for more details!
Bringing Art to Life through 3D Optics
How do you bring Elsa to life? What about Coco and other 3D characters you've met on screen? In this workshop, we'll get a taste of creating interactive 3D objects using Javascript, HTML and CSS. Put on your artistic coder hat and let's create! At this event, up to 25 high school girls will have the opportunity to explore technology careers by participating in a technical workshops. They will leave the event with new found confidence, their very own technology project, and inspiration to pursue a technical career. We need your help in transforming their lives!
ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women in the technology workforce and increasing the number of women and girls pursuing technology-based careers. Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
