This stipend eligible position is for the spring 2023 time frame. Includes a $1500 stipend paid in May. The Regional Quality Council (RQC) works to implement a contract with the Department of Human Services that supports diverse, cross-functional councils that respond to emergent issues impacting the disability community, engage in systems transformation efforts, and align with disability justice movement identified by leaders who have disabilities. The RQC Intern will:
- Support efforts and initiatives that drive overall systems and social change to promote inclusion of people who have disabilities in the state of Minnesota;
- Improve person-centered outcomes in disability services;
- Identify or enhance quality of life indicators for people who have disabilities.
Position Summary: Supporting The Arc’s RQC Manager & Coordinators, participates in planning & implementation of activities positively impacting people with intellectual & developmental disabilities. Provides administrative, logistical, programmatic and/or evaluative under supervision of The Arc RQC Manager. Specific duties include:
Responsibilities:
- Assist with setting up and implementing a quality monitoring system that includes informational interviews, community conversations, listening sessions and focus groups to measure and report on services for people with disabilities within their region
- Properly document quality monitoring system feedback and complete follow-up process as necessary
- Respond to daily operational needs of RQC Manager and Regional Coordinators
- Attend and support RQC meetings once a month
- Assist with analyzing information and coordinating a regional response to access barriers and service gaps
- Support RQC’s in identifying, planning & implementing 1 or more quality improvement projects
- Research, compile, and share existing resources and best practices
- Assist with setting priorities to improve home-and-community based long-term services and supports for people with disabilities based on regional strengths and needs
- Assist with reporting regional findings to DHS & make recommendations for system improvements
- Data entry and data management
- Be willing to attend abuse reporting trainings and follow mandated abuse reporting policies required by the state
- Other duties as requested

Qualifications:
- Knowledge of services and supports for people with disabilities and their family
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills necessary
- Ability to successfully work both as a team member and independently
- Multiple language capabilities preferred, but not required
Time Commitment: 10-12 hours per week for spring 2023. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
