Second Harvest Heartland provides a box of nutritious food each month to low-income seniors 60 years and over through the Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS).Seniors are given a box of highly nutritious food. The packages may include canned fruits, vegetables and juices, dry and UHT milk, American cheese, canned meat, peanut butter or dried beans, cereal, rice or pasta. Volunteers in this position assist or lead at a distribution site where Second Harvest Heartland gives out the boxes. We go into the community to make picking up a box of grocery’s convenient to the seniors; we meet them where they are at. Site Volunteers provide excellent customer service to our clients and work alongside the other volunteers at the distribution. This is a once a month position for 2-3 hours per month. Minimum 1-year commitment.
