The Kanawha State Forest Foundation posts monthly volunteer opportunities on their Facebook site (https://www.facebook.com/pg/KSFFoundation/events/).

Individuals and groups can also plan their own volunteer activities:

--For example, middle school students could plan a time to pick-up trash and the KSFF would provide gloves, trash pickers and trash bags. Boy Scout troops who'd like to do trail maintenance could contact the KSFF volunteer coordinator and arrange for the use of loppers and other tools. Individuals and community groups who'd like to help paint trail signs, picnic shelters, or a variety of historic structures are always needed, so the KSFF would provide paint, brushes and other supplies. Are you a senior, who loves nature? How about volunteering to work in the nature center on weekends? Web developer? We need someone to design and operate the KSFF website.

As soon as the weather warms up, we need volunteers to help paint the picnic shelters in Johnson Hollow.
