The Robot Block Party needs event staff volunteers! This event features demonstrations and exhibits of robots used or created by universities, community organizations, industry and K-12 schools across Rhode Island. The event is open to the public from noon-4 PM, but we need volunteers from 7 am-10 am to help exhibitors load in and set up their booths and volunteers to help breakdown the event from 4-6 pm. This event offers opportunities to network in the robotics/STEM community in Rhode Island.

Mission Statement
Rhode Island Students of the Future spreads enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering and math through robotics. We encourage young people from all backgrounds to participate in real-world inquiry-based science, technology, engineering and math activities that develop leadership, critical thinking, communication and teamwork. We manage FIRST LEGO League and Jr. FIRST LEGO League in Rhode Island as well as the Robot Block Party, an expo that celebrates robotics, mechanical design and computer programming in industry, universities, community organizations and K-12 schools. These programs, which use robotics to engage 4-14 year olds in science and technology, serve over 800 students annually.
Description
Rhode Island School of the Future (RISF) is a volunteer-driven non-profit organization that engages Rhode Island children in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). RISF has a long history of supporting STEAM outreach for children and professional development for teachers, coaches and mentors. We produce the Robot Block Party, a STEAM expo, and were instrumental in bringing FIRST LEGO League (FLL), and its sister program, Jr. FLL, to Rhode Island in 2001 and 2005, respectively. We manage both FIRST programs under a contract with US FIRST in New Hampshire.
