Volunteer Purpose and Impact

Every year, thousands of people across Arizona are completely forgotten during the holidays. Teens in foster care are often forgotten, or receive gifts that are intended for younger children. This December, Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest is hosting a Winter Wonderland to celebrate the holiday season with kids and teens in foster care. Not only is this a celebration of diversity and community building, but each child and teen, foster and biological, will receive a gift. Join us in ringing in the holiday season and making kids and teens in foster care feel special!

Calling all holiday elves for

• Activity Table Volunteer: LSS-SW will have multiple different activity tables at Winter Wonderland to engage guests in fun and artistic ways. Inspire families to get creative and spread holiday cheer!

• Santa’s Helper: Help make Santa’s workshop come to life by managing the gift distribution station as children take pictures with Santa. Help LSS-SW ensure that each child at the event receives a gift.

• Security Volunteer: LSS-SW is seeking volunteers to help maintain a safe and family friendly environment at the Winter Wonderland event. Indulge in the event’s fun activities while watching out for the safety of children and parents.

• Food Station Volunteer: Nothing brings people together quite like food. Help LSS-SW manage the food station by guiding the flow of traffic, assisting guests, and keeping a tidy space.
