Purpose
Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest highly values all of their volunteers and wants to share their stories with all LSS-SW staff. We are seeking an Appreciation Newsletter Volunteer to assist in interviewing passionate volunteers and writing up their story to share with staff. Help LSS-SW highlight the amazing work of volunteers to share with staff in each of the 4 programs.
Duties and responsibilities
- Schedule interviews with volunteers that go above and beyond
- Call or meet face to face with volunteers that want to share their story
- Take detailed notes during interviews
- Transform the interview responses into a short story for staff to learn about why volunteers love what they do
- Create and send the Appreciation Newsletter to all LSS-SW staff
- Interpersonal skills
- Strong writer
- Basic computer skills
- Detail oriented
- Passion for the Lutheran Social Services mission
Working Conditions
The volunteer may work remotely when scheduling and completing interviews either via phone or meeting face to face. The volunteer must work from the Admin office at least once a month to create and send out the newsletter.
Clearances Required and Training
The volunteer will be required to complete a Verified Volunteer Background Check. Further training will be provided by the Volunteer Specialist.
Location and Timeframe
Locations may vary and volunteer shifts are flexible.
