ORGANIZATION: YOUNG EISNER SCHOLARS

We work with middle school students from more than 10 schools around the Los Angeles area (including the South Bay, Downtown, East L.A., Boyle Heights, and the San Fernando Valley). Most of our weekend programming, however, takes place at our main office located on the Lennox Middle School campus. We are always in need of drivers to help bring students to our Lennox location for sessions and activities, and then take them home afterwards. Our greatest need is for help transporting students to and from Saturday morning sessions and events.

Mission Statement

YES identifies young leaders from low-income communities and equips them with the resources, support, and academic skills required for success through high school, college, and beyond.

  • Placing them and providing tuition for summer programs at local and internationally acclaimed boarding schools.
  • Preparing for the SAT and/or ACT, in a subsidized program administered by the Compass Education Group, a private tutoring company.
  • Providing college counseling support and assistance in preparing for college.
  • Assisting in identifying and applying for college scholarships.
  • Providing supplemental financial aid and support for medical costs.
  • Assisting in identifying and securing internships and career placements.
