VITAS Healthcare is looking for Caregiver Relief Volunteers for patients residing in their own homes in the Desoto, MO area. Caregiver Relief Volunteers provide a short break so the caregiver can run an errand, see a movie, go to a doctor's appointment, go on an outing, etc. Caregiver volunteers typically spend 2 hours with a home patient per visit.
Volunteers are matched with a VITAS patient to provide specific, non- medical care through socializing through friendly visits. Every VITAS volunteer receives training in hospice philosophy, how to support patients/families, health and safety precautions and more. Description
Volunteers are the heart of VITAS Healthcare, providing friendly, non- medical support to hospice patients and their family or offering support services in the office. We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to volunteers for our patients in their homes or in nursing facilities in the community.
