Oceanside Museum of Art is a premier regional art museum and a leader of arts and culture in San Diego. In addition to several highly praised contemporary art exhibitions per year, museum programming includes classes, lectures, docent tours, parties, concerts, films, culinary events, and chartered travel to other cultural art venues and destinations. Oceanside Museum of Art is looking for an arts-loving, detail-oriented, brand-conscious, self-driven external communications intern to establish and maintain a consistent presence in digital and print community/events calendars. The intern will work with a small team including the marketing director, education director, and exhibitions manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES * Maintain and update the community/events calendars distribution list * Submit programming to a variety of community/events calendars * Track progress and status of submissions for each program * Track defined outreach metrics monthly * Engage in brainstorming sessions, bringing marketing, publicity and brand exposure ideas
QUALIFICATIONS * Must be studying public relations, communications, business, or marketing. * Proficient using the internet and web browsers * Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Gmail * Excellent oral and written communication skills, including editorial-style/news release writing * Strong interpersonal skills * Ability to take direction and acquire new knowledge as necessary for tasks or projects * Deadline-conscious self-starter * Detail oriented and able to multitask Please submit your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org to be considered.
