Redwood Community Health Coalition

AmeriCorps is the domestic version of the Peace Corps. The Redwood Community Health Coalition AmeriCorps VIP-SE Fellow Program is designed to assist community health centers in developing and sustaining volunteer programs to promote health education and care in their communities.

The AmeriCorps VIP-SE Fellow who serves at Redwood Community Health Coalition will be a Lead Fellow and will assist the program manager in providing leadership and training for other AmeriCorps VIP-SE Fellows. AmeriCorps Fellows are not employees however they do receive a monthly stipend, health insurance, and if they successfully complete their term of service, an education award. The position requires about 40-45 hours per week of service, most often Monday through Friday however some evenings and weekend days may be required.

The Redwood Community Health Coalition (RCHC) is a coalition of community health centers in Sonoma, Napa, Marin and Yolo counties. RCHC supports its members' mission to provide high-quality cost-efficient care to all, regardless of ability to pay.

Description

Redwood Community Health Coalition is a network of 17 community health centers, with over 40 sites in Marin, Napa, Sonoma and Yolo Counties. Formed in 1994, our mission is to improve access to and the quality of care provided for under-served and uninsured people in our four counties. Our member health centers provide patient-centered primary care health homes to over 240,000 individuals in Marin, Napa, Sonoma and Yolo Counties. This represents more than 1 out of every 5 members of our communities. Sixty percent of our patients have incomes below the Federal Poverty Level and close to thirty percent of our patients are uninsured.
