The Tempe Book Bike program delivers books and resources to the Tempe community. It provides library books, library cards, as well as information on library and city services to underserved populations by visiting community centers, parks and community gathering places in Tempe.

We are looking for Tempe Book Bike Ambassadors to connect with people, help build strong community ties and encourage literacy. A bicycle, safety gear and training will be provided.

Requirements for Book Bike Ambassador:
- Able to bike 5 miles+ during shift
- Can lift 50 lbs.
- Technologically proficient with mobile devices
- Good communication/people skills
- Bilingual is preferred, but not recommended

Time Commitment for Book Bike Ambassador:
- Able to commit to at least 8 hours (2 shifts) per month

The mission of the City of Tempe municipal volunteer program is to connect citizens to their city government through opportunities to serve within the Tempe municipal government organization and the community. Volunteers serve in Tempe government offices, programs and facilities and expand and enhance the services the city is able to provide to the community. Volunteers enable the city to stretch tax dollars and improve the lives of its citizens. A wide variety of service opportunities exist for individuals and groups, from sixth-graders through golden-agers, from a few hours to years of service. We welcome you to check us out!
