Mission Statement

The mission of the City of Tempe municipal volunteer program is to connect citizens to their city government through opportunities to serve within the Tempe municipal government organization and the community. Volunteers serve in Tempe government offices, programs and facilities and expand and enhance the services the city is able to provide to the community. Volunteers enable the city to stretch tax dollars and improve the lives of its citizens. A wide variety of service opportunities exist for individuals and groups, from sixth-graders through golden-agers, from a few hours to years of service. We welcome you to check us out!

I very much enjoy the opportunity to work one on one with high school seniors in my role as a College Connect Mentor for the City of Tempe. The position really is a mentoring opportunity - I have met with several students on average 3 times.
