Raphael House is a 31 room homeless shelter for families located in San Francisco. The mission of Raphael House is to help families achieve stable housing and financial independence while strengthening family bonds and personal dignity.
We offer many programs for both children and families, one of which is our Parent Empowerment Group- a small group led by our Family Wellness Manager, Marlene Citron on Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. We are looking for a volunteer who can come in one time per month to help lead yoga and/or meditation exercises to help these Raphael House parents feel relaxed and empowered.
We are preferably looking for someone who has experience working with trauma or vulnerable populations. Volunteers would need to submit a recent (within 1 year) TB test and livescan fingerprinting results (all costs can be billed directly to Raphael House if new tests are needed).
Please contact Volunteer Coordinator, Kellen Sarver at ksarver@raphaelhouse.org with any questions.
Thank you!

Description
Raphael House is a homeless shelter for families located in San Francisco with a mission to help low-income families and families experiencing homelessness strengthen family bonds by achieving stable housing and financial independence. Families living at Raphael House are able to utilize our many supportive services such as career development, K-5 and teen tutoring, family wellness services, intensive case management, children's programming, and financial literacy. Our success rate is unmatched: More than 85% of all Raphael House families go on to achieve long-term housing and financial stability, but the support does not end there. Families can receive many of the same supportive services through our Bridge Program for up to 18 years after moving into their own housing, helping them to break the cycle of homelessness for good
