Clean Bay Certified restaurant program volunteer

The Bay Foundation needs volunteers for our Clean Bay Certified (CBC) restaurant program. Volunteers will help support and encourage environmental responsibility in the restaurant sector through ocean pollution prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote CBC awareness among our certified restaurants. Call or visit certified restaurants, speak with manager or owner about the program, and solicit donations.
• Increase restaurant participation in our CBC program. Call or visit restaurants, speak with manager or owner about the program, and encourage them to join.
• Help us build relationships with certified restaurants. Interview CBC restaurants to gather important information to direct our efforts. Interviews take approximately 10 to 20 minutes and are done in person.
• Attend community engagement events to raise awareness about ocean pollution and CBC, promote CBC restaurants, and encourage the public to reduce their environmental impact.
• Help us in the office with data management and program development.

Time Commitment: Flexible! We seek committed volunteers that want to help build and grow our program.

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Good organization and record keeping
• A commitment and passion for the environment
• Experience in the restaurant industry is a plus

Location: Volunteers can work from various locations; home, restaurants in participating cities (Malibu, Santa Monica, Culver City, Inglewood, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills Estates), or our office in downtown Los Angeles. Our office is located directly across from the Metro Red and Purple Lines Pershing Square Station (exit 4th Street).
