Fidget blankets and quilts provide important tactile and sensory stimulation for participants in our adult day programs. The lap-sized blankets are generally colorful, made with different fabrics and textures. Objects and accessories like ribbon, buttons, rings, toys, pockets, and secured beads are also sewn into the blanket.
We are looking for volunteers who can create tactile blankets for program participants by attaching toys, rings, buttons, and other items to a pre-made blanket or by creating a fidget blanket from scratch. You can find great inspiration and ideas on sites such as Pinterest and sewing blogs.
Please contact UCP Heartland's Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator, Stacey Krueger, if you are interested in making fidget blankets: kruegers@ucpheartland.org | 636-779-2278
