Meet at the trailhead at 8 a.m.
Bradley-Sunkhaze Preserve in Milford
Join staff from The Nature Conservancy in Maine and members of the Maine Conservation Corps for a full morning of trail building. We need your help to put the finishing touches on a new trail that crosses Birch Stream and loops through the northern part of the preserve. Get to know a section of this 12,700-acre parcel of forestland frequented by moose and black bear, and learn techniques for building safe, durable trails.
The work will involve hiking several miles over moderate terrain and using rakes, grub-hoes, McLeod’s and other hand-tools to grade and smooth the tread of the trail. Tools and personal protective equipment will be provided by the Maine Conservation Corps.
To register or to receive more information about this volunteer opportunity, please contact Richard Joyce at richard.joyce@tnc.org or call 207-607-4835.
