ORGANIZATION: Riverside County- RSVP Program

Every fourth Thursday of the month, volunteers gather at approximately 12:30 pm to set-up, organize, bag, and distribute food beginning at 2:00 pm to over 500 families from the greater Indio area.

Volunteer Project Title:

  • Food Distribution Team Member
Objective:
  • Organize food into bags to be picked up by recipients
Responsibilities:
  • Unload pallets- standing & lifting
  • Bag food- reaching & carrying
  • Distribute food- greet recipients, lifting & reaching
Qualifications: (Exceptions apply, everyone will be accommodated)
  • Likes to work as part of the team
  • To unload pallets must be able to lift 25-50lbs
  • To bag food & distribute food must be able to lift up to 20lbs.
Assignment:
  • The food distribution takes place the 4th Thursday of every month
  • Hours for volunteers are 12:30 - 6:00PM
  • Volunteers may come for only 1 month or return on a monthly basis
