ORGANIZATION: Gentiva Hospice

Gentiva Hospice needs people like you to provide companionship to our patients. This volunteer role includes office training, but all visits will take place in the homes of our patients.

This activity is flexible to your schedule and is open to any adult 18 years of age and older.

We provide all training which will include a background screen, 2 step TB skin test, drug screen and hospice overview at no charge to you. We ask our volunteers to consider donating 4-6 hours a month of companionship visits which can include any of the following:

  • Play a game
  • Watch television, etc.
  • Visit with a patient in the community garden
  • Read a book, bible, Sunday School lesson, newspaper, color etc.
  • Listen and share stories
  • Look and label photos
  • Sing and play music
