ArtStream provides creative and performance opportunities to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism. Volunteers can support students directly in classes or onstage, as well as backstage or in the office.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Mentors in drama and social skills classes
  • Onstage mentors in Theatre Companies
  • Backstage production assistants
  • Special events and office help
  • One-time and ongoing assignments
  • Opportunities available in Virginia, D.C., and Maryland
Opportunities are available in various locations and at various times throughout the year.

Description

ArtStream teaches art and social skills through participation in the performing arts. With over a decade of experience in the community, ArtStream builds confidence in participants by allowing them to make their own choices. ArtStream’s signature programs teach communication and pre-employment skills to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Theatre Companies, Cabarets, classes, and workshops.
