ORGANIZATION: Mohave County Attorney Victim Services

  • 1 person is interested

For over 20 years the Mohave County Attorney’s Office has been committed to serving and respecting the rights of crime victims. The Mohave County Attorney’s Victim/Witness Program is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist victims through the confusion and turmoil that often goes along with a traumatic event.

Our Crisis Response Team is a highly dedicated group of volunteers who work in conjunction with law enforcement to assist people with safety, emotional, practical, and social needs immediately following a traumatic event. This team operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide immediate crisis intervention and on-scene victim assistance, emotional support, and information and referrals to our large network of community and private assistance providers. The Crisis Response Team will then hand the victim advocacy services off to our trained staff of Victim Advocates who will then help them to navigate through the often long and confusing criminal justice process.

Mohave County Attorney’s Victim/Witness Program will provide the crisis response training, the victim advocacy training and the computer software training in order for you to effectively and with compassion help victims of crime.

Description

The Mohave County Attorney Victim Services Division is a Goverment Organization whose sole purpose is to advocate for Victims of Crime. Our organization heads a Crisis Intervention Team. This team is made up of volunteers who respond directly to the crime scene. We are dispatched out by Law Enforcement. Once on scene it is our duty to assist the victim anyway we can. We provide support and compassion during what is possibly the hardest time in the victims life.

The Mohave County Attorney Victim Services Division also had a Volunteer Court Advocacy Program. Our Volunteers attend court with or on behalf of the victim. The Judicial Process can be a long and drawn out process. Having our Volunteers advocate and accompany the victims gives the victims a sense of reassurance. Reassurance that they are not alone in this process.
