Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The Mohave County Attorney's Office is committed to serving and respecting the rights of crime victims as detailed in the Victims' Bill of Rights. We offer a variety of services to ensure that these rights are upheld, Mission Statement from: Matthew J. Smith, Mohave County Attorney To conduct the prosecution of all felony offenses within the County and the prosecution of misdemeanors in the unincorporated areas. Advise law enforcement agencies and the grand jury. Assist crime victims and witnesses. Represent County government and its agencies, school districts, fire departments, and other public agencies.
The Mohave County Attorney Victim Services Division is a Goverment Organization whose sole purpose is to advocate for Victims of Crime. Our organization heads a Crisis Intervention Team. This team is made up of volunteers who respond directly to the crime scene. We are dispatched out by Law Enforcement. Once on scene it is our duty to assist the victim anyway we can. We provide support and compassion during what is possibly the hardest time in the victims life.
The Mohave County Attorney Victim Services Division also had a Volunteer Court Advocacy Program. Our Volunteers attend court with or on behalf of the victim. The Judicial Process can be a long and drawn out process. Having our Volunteers advocate and accompany the victims gives the victims a sense of reassurance. Reassurance that they are not alone in this process.
