Are you skilled at writing, reading, English or History? Volunteer to tutor low-income/at-risk high school students!
Neighborhood Youth Association is a non-profit after-school program. We provide leadership development, academic enrichment and college prep for students in grades 1-12 at our campus in Venice. We are looking for one or two tutors to work with a small group of students currently taking advanced, AP and Honors English and History classes.
The commitment is once a week for one hour throughout the school year. We have a great group of volunteers - come join the team!

The Neighborhood Youth Association provides at risk youth from low income homes a comprehensive set of educational enhancement services in a sustained, focused manner over the critical years of their lives so that they may successfully reach a productive adulthood.
Description
NYA offers services that are long term and concentrated, adapted to meet the individual needs of each child and are measured against tangible goals. We have locations in Venice, Mar Vista (West LA), Downtown LA, Mid-City, and South LA/Harbor Gateway.
