The Annual Johnson Creek Clean-Up gives over 150 volunteers access to the lower 6 miles of Johnson Creek from its confluence with the Willamette River up to I-205. Volunteers are led in teams by trained captains who are familiar with the reach. We start at Mill Park (in Milwaukie) and come back afterwards for a BBQ lunch and to share stories of what we found in the creek, including a competition for the coveted "Golden Garbage Can" award for the most unusual item. Since 2008, we’ve averaged three tons of debris per year.
