I like to help the environment and make new friends in the making.

Very well organized, met some amazing people, and the beach was beautiful. I would suggest however that the organizers also stress the importance of cleaning up the street and not just the beach as that is where the majority of the trash was. I got to get my hands dirty and found a huge old beach blanket buried in the sand, with the help of 5 other volunteers we dug 3 feet down during a rising tide to free the entire blanket. Amazing experience.

This was a very calm, very easy volunteer opportunity to complete. The head organizers were very friendly and immediately got us integrated to begin working. They supplied bags, gloves, long reach picker-uppers, and even sifters. The work was relaxing actually. You walk along the beach and pick up any trash/recyclable you encounter. It was only an hour long. At the end, when you return the bags of trash, they weigh them and somewhat make it into a friendly competition. They announce who got the highest. I thought that was a great touch. Overall, great experience. I will return.

Great turnout of people, plenty of supplies for those who didn't bring any, and a very cheerful group of reps from the organization. They also make an effort to track all the trash picked up at the event, which undoubtedly helps inspire a feeling of accomplishment for the volunteers.
