You can give the gift of literacy! Come to the FREE tutor training and become a part of an elite group of volunteers. Attend a one-hour orientation Thursday, September 14 at 10 AM or 6 PM followed by a full Saturday of training September 16, 9 AM until 5 PM.
After training is completed, ReadWest matches you with an adult learner and provides materials and support throughout the match. You will meet once a week for two hours in a public place. Adult students are flexible and allow for tutor's travel on holidays and summer months. So don't let that stop you from helping an adult learn to read or speak English. (No foreign language or college degree required.)

Description
ReadWest has been helping adults learn to read, write, and speak English for over 30 years. Trained volunteers meet with an adult learner once a week for two hours. We help improve the reading and writing levels of English speakers. We also help English Language Learners acquire survival English and workplace vocabulary. NO teaching experience needed. We have an all English approach, so NO foreign language experience is required.
