ReadWest trains you to help adults with poor reading skills improve their reading and writing abilities. They also train volunteers to help an adult learn to speak English as a second language. You don't need to speak a foreign language to tutor. After your training you are matched with a student and meet once a week for two hours. It's fun to learn about other cultures as you teach them survival English phrases and vocabulary. It's equally rewarding to help an adult learn to read. It opens new worlds to an individual as soon as he learns to read.
