In this role, the ChickTech Chicago High School Kickoff will be your baby! Scheduled for November 18-19, the Kickoff will be 2 days of workshops for high school girls interested in STEM, jump starting their year of being mentored by amazing women in tech in the Chicago area.

You'll guide the leadership team, pick up pieces that are dropped, make connections, help with brainstorming, and come up with event ideas with the rest of the leadership team. The team, lead by you, must recruit workshop leads, volunteers, wrangle fundraising and sponsorship, and make sure the event goes smoothly day-of, not to mention recruit as many high school aged girls from the Chicago area and STEM mentors as possible.

The perfect candidate for the High School Program Director will be kind, outgoing, trustworthy, experienced people manager and strategic planner, has previous personal volunteer experience, is passionate about empowering girls and women in technology, and is able to make a commitment at least through the end of November 2017, though they are welcome and encouraged to continue with ChickTech Chicago after that.

ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.

As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
