ORGANIZATION: Girls on the Run of NOVA

Team Cheer

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of girls in your community? Volunteer to Coach with Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia this Fall!

Girls on the Run is a youth development program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade that creatively integrates running. The 10 week curriculum-based program helps girls build skills to be strong, confident, and healthy. As a coach, you'll be trained to guide small teams in practice twice a week. You'll lead your team of girls in valuable lessons and teamwork building, while working up to running a 5K at the end of the season.

Coaching a Girls on the Run team is one of the most rewarding ways to get involved with GOTR NOVA. Coaching provides a first-hand experience of the program and a sense of accomplishment, knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of the girls on your team.

At Creekside Community Center, we are in need of two coaches - one Head Coach and one Assistant Coach! This team practices Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45 - 6:00PM. If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please contact Meagan Perkins at mperkins@gotrnova.org.

To register as a coach for the Spring 2019 season, you can fill out an application here:
