SCHOOL PROGRAMS Do you love working with children? Are you excited to inspire future environmental stewards? Help us lead educational programs for school groups, grades K-5. (Weekday mornings)

--> Join us at an upcoming New Docent Orientation to learn more about this opportunity: Tuesday, January 15 from 9:00-10:30am OR Wednesday, January 16 from 5:30-7:00pm.

NATIVE GARDEN Interested in California native plants and gardening in general? Join us in our Garden Learning Center and Native Pollinator Garden! (Ongoing, weekends)

EVENTS & OUTREACH Want to share your passion for nature with your community? Join us in welcoming guests to events or engaging with people around town. (Weekends and evenings)

EXHIBITS & OTHER OPPORTUNITIES What talents do you want to share? Other opportunities to support our non-profit Museum include exhibit installation, beach cleanups, and behind-the-scenes support. (As needed)

Description

The Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History offers an interesting and enriching experience for all ages, talents and skill levels. We welcome new volunteers year-round and offer a variety of ways to be involved and make a difference in our community:

* Docent (background check required) -

* Internship

* Garden Volunteer

* Tide Pool Feeding

* Exhibits Installation

* Special Events Help

All volunteers receive an orientation to the Museum's volunteer program. Docents receive additional trainings for the education program(s) they will teach and shadow experienced docents/staff.
