CHILDCARE ASSISTANT -
KINSHIP-JOHN XXIII MULTISERVICE CENTER
195 E. San Fernando Street, San Jose, CA 95112
KINSHIP PROGRAM OVERVIEW: The position supports the program by providing engaging indoor activities for the children while the caregivers are attending support groups and seminars.
Volunteer Responsibilities: Keep all children in sight at all times, plan/engage and provide gentle nurturing presence.
Tidy the area and put away equipment/toys at the end of each session. Maintain good relationship with other child care assistant and work as a team.
Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and listening skills. Knowledge of working with children under 12.
Requirements and Training. Live scan/background clearance; maintain bi-yearly TB skin test record. First Aid certification and CPR certification. Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred and encouraged to apply, but not required.
Dates/Times - 5:30pm - 7:45pm on the 1 st. 3 rd and 4 th Wednesday of the month (subject to change to accommodate program events, holidays and other conditions)
